Sync

What Fovea syncs across your signed-in browsers, and what stays on each device.

Sign in to your Fovea Account and your browsing data follows you to every signed-in copy of Fovea. Sync runs over Fovea’s own service using the Chromium Sync protocol, and each account’s data is isolated to that account.

What syncs

  • Bookmarks
  • Preferences and settings
  • History and typed URLs
  • Open tabs and sessions
  • Autofill data
  • Saved passwords (stored encrypted)
  • Device information
  • Encryption metadata (Nigori)

What does not sync

Some browser data stays only on the device where it lives:

  • Cookies
  • Extensions and their settings
  • Local storage and IndexedDB
  • Cache and session storage

Manage your data

Open your Account page to see the devices signed in to sync, sign out a single device, or sign out everywhere.

Turn on sync

Sign in to your Fovea Account in the browser, then turn on sync. Your data starts syncing to your account and to every other device where you are signed in with sync enabled.

Not seeing your synced data?

  • Confirm you are signed in to the same Fovea Account on each device.
  • Confirm sync is turned on, not just signed in.
  • Give it a moment and check your connection — changes propagate shortly after they are made.
